I've always loved dogs. From as early as I can remember, we've always had dogs. In my family we've had Miniature Poodles/Standard Poodle/German Shepherd/Kerry Blue Terrier/Border Terrier/Standard Schnauzer and now a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier - hence the logo!

I always ended up grooming the dogs because I enjoyed it and about thirty years ago I invested in my own clippers/scissors etc, to groom our own poodle. Ever since, I've groomed my own and family dogs.

After a long career as a civil servant with the MoD, I took the offer of voluntary redundancy. This gave me the opportunity to do something I've always wanted to do. A job that I would enjoy, be really good at, be my own boss and work with dogs - Dog Groomer.

I didn't want to set up a business without any formal qualifications so I studied for a Diploma in Dog Grooming NCFE level 3, which I passed with a 'Distinction'.

Along with the Diploma, I worked in a dog grooming salon a couple of days a week, when possible, to get hands on training. I worked with Caroline from Wagtails. Caroline is City & Guilds trained and has a real passion for dogs and grooming. She was a fantastic mentor that guided me where required and has helped me to also have that confidence and passion about grooming.

Once I had gained the qualification and hands-on practical experience, I started my own mobile grooming business using a fully-converted mobile salon. I have now invested in a new, purpose-built salon near the centre of Princes Risborough.

I believe it is very important to keep up to date with the latest ideas, and ensure my skills stay current so that your dog gets the very best treatment. I have attended a workshop in Tellington TTouch. This is a unique way of calming stressed animals which I use in my salon. I also attend grooming seminars when I can to keep me up to date with new grooming methods that can help me in my work. For example, recently I attended a Colin Taylor workshop which I found really useful.

I can no longer offer a mobile service, and would like to thank all of my lovely mobile customers for their valued custom and hope they will continue to use Million Dollar Dogs in Princes Risborough. I hope to offer a local pick-up / drop-off service for customers that need it in the future - watch this space!

This business has been running for over six years now and has many regular and loyal customers who in turn have recommended me to others. I feel I give my all to every dog I groom, treating them all as if they were my own.

So here I am, looking forward to meeting you and your dog/s to groom them to make them feel better and to make them look and feel like a Million Dollars.
